Description
The Crooks and Castles Medusa sleeve hoodie is the busiest piece in this group of hoodies, and it is meant to be. If you have been looking through the Crooks and Castles range for something that reads from any angle, front or side, this is the one. A bright red body carries Crooks across the top of the chest, a white Medusa head with small stars on either side in the middle, and & Castles below, all in white. The artwork then carries on where most hoodies stop: Medusa graphics run in a line down the outside of both sleeves. White drawcords at the neck tie in with the print. Every detail of the red pullover with Medusa sleeves is covered below.
Design Details
Medusa Graphics Down Both Sleeves
The sleeve prints are what set this hoodie apart. On each arm, Medusa heads are stacked from the shoulder toward the cuff, so the graphic shows when your arms are crossed, when you lean on a table, and in any side-on photo. With both arms printed, the hoodie looks finished from the back and sides as well as the front.
The Chest Lockup with Stars
On the front, the name is split around the Medusa head: Crooks above it in tall capitals and & Castles beneath. Small stars sit beside the head and fill the space so the lockup feels like one badge. The same Medusa-between-the-words idea appears on the black Medusa panel tee, set inside white panels instead.
Fabric
Red Fleece with Real Weight
Under the print is a brushed-back fleece of around 80% cotton and 20% polyester, at roughly 480 GSM. The heavy knit keeps a bold red looking deep and even, and the brushed inside stays warm through fall and winter. On mild spring evenings it is enough on its own, with no jacket over the top.
How to Wear It
Wearing a Hoodie This Loud
With red and white all over the top half, keep the bottom half simple: black sweatpants, black jeans or dark cargos. White sneakers echo the print. If you want to build a set with more Medusa in it, the white Medusa fleece shorts carry a black Medusa head and lettering on one leg for warmer days.
White Drawcords Against Red
The drawcords are white, the same shade as the lettering, so they read as part of the design instead of a stray detail. Tie them or let them hang; either way they frame the head.
Sizing a Print-Heavy Pullover
This is a regular-fit hoodie with ribbed cuffs and hem, in S, M, L, XL and XXL. Because the sleeve graphics run the full arm, a size that is too big lets them bunch at the wrist, so stick with your true size unless you need room for layers. For another graphic-heavy pick with red in it, see the red and gold chain print tracksuit.
Materials and Care
Care for Red Dye and White Ink
New red fleece can release some dye in its first few washes, so wash this hoodie inside out, in cold water, on its own or with other reds. The guide to caring for printed pieces has more general advice. Keep it away from whites and light colors. Hang it to dry rather than tumbling it, because heat fades red and can crack the sleeve prints where the arm bends, and press only from the inside on low. If you prefer a calmer color with the same mark, the black hoodie with the gold Medusa is the darker choice.

Are Both Sleeves Printed?

What Color Are the Drawcords on the Medusa Sleeve Hoodie?

Will the Red Run in the Wash?
Wash it cold, inside out and away from light colors, especially for the first few washes, to protect both the red and the white print.
