Crooks and Castles pants cover the woven side of the label's bottoms: twill, chino and denim, cut from cloth rather than knitted fleece. No pair is listed yet, and the first ones are on the way. If you came for soft pull-on fleece, that sits in a separate section, while the matching joggers from each Crooks and Castles tracksuit are already in the shop, sold together with their hoodies in black, navy tie-dye and a red chain print. Here you will find what the label has released in woven pants, how the styles differ from sweats, and how to measure for a pair before you order one. Keep the Crooks and Castles twill and denim pants page saved to catch the first arrivals.
Woven Pants From the Label'S Past Seasons
Retail listings show a few kinds of Crooks and Castles pants: a twill jogger in 98% cotton and 2% spandex, a chino cut as a jogger, a casual trouser, and button-fly blue jeans in a standard fit. Woven twill is a three-season cloth, cool enough for spring and autumn and warm enough for mild winter days under a long coat.
Stretch Twill Joggers
The twill jogger takes the shape of a sweatpant, with an elastic waist and gathered ankles, but swaps fleece for a smooth woven cotton. The small share of spandex lets it move when you sit or crouch, and it looks sharper than fleece with a plain shirt or tee.
Chinos and Casual Trousers
One past chino was cut like a jogger, with a gathered cuff at the ankle, while the casual trouser kept an open hem. The cuffed version shows off sneakers; an open hem falls over the top of a boot.
Button-Fly Denim Jeans
The label has also sold blue jeans with a button fly and a standard fit. Plain denim like this leaves room for any of its printed tops to do the talking.
Woven Pants or Fleece Sweatpants
The difference is the fabric. Fleece is knitted, warm and forgiving, while twill and denim are woven, hold a crease and stand up to wear. For a pull-on fleece pair, the Crooks and Castles fleece sweatpants section will carry those once they land.
When Twill Makes More Sense
Twill works for days when sweats feel too casual, such as dinner or an evening out. It also keeps its shape after hours of sitting, where fleece tends to bag at the knee. For full matching fleece instead, the Crooks and Castles hoodie and jogger tracksuits are the set to look at.
Matching Pants to a Graphic Top
Plain pants let a printed top lead. Black or khaki twill under the gold Medusa bandana hoodie keeps the eye on the tan and gold chest print. Blue denim works with almost any of the black tees and crewnecks.
When the weather turns warm, a light top does most of the work above plain khaki or black twill. The skull ruling elite graphic tee shows a white bunny-eared skull, the number 38 and gothic lettering on black cotton, so it reads clearly from across a room and needs nothing loud below it. On the hottest days, when even light twill feels like too much, woven pants give way to the fleece shorts with leg prints.
Measuring Waist and Inseam for Pants
Woven pants have little give, so the waist has to fit before anything else. Each pair will show its waist, hip, rise and inseam in the size guide with waist and inseam charts, along with the sizing system it uses.
Letter Sizes Versus Waist Sizes
Elastic-waist twill joggers usually come in letter sizes, which on this site run S, M, L, XL and XXL. Jeans and chinos are often sold by waist and length in inches instead. The product page will say which applies.
How to Measure Your Own Waist
Measure around your waist where you actually wear your pants, not your natural waist, with the tape snug but not tight. Compare that number with the chart rather than with the size on a different brand's label.
Finding Your Inseam
Lay a pair that fits you well flat on a table and measure from the crotch seam down to the hem. That is your inseam, and it is the easiest way to get the length right without trying the pants on.
Rise and Where the Pants Sit
Rise is the distance from the crotch seam up to the top of the waistband. A higher rise sits at the waist and feels more secure, while a lower rise sits on the hips.
Looking After Twill and Denim
Wash woven pants inside out in cold water and hang them to dry. Our washing and drying care guide covers each fabric in more detail.
Keeping Dark Denim From Fading
Dark denim keeps its color longer when washed rarely and always cold. The first few washes can bleed dye, so wash a new pair on its own.
Ironing Twill and Chinos
Press twill on a medium setting while it is still a little damp, which removes creases faster. Keep stretch twill away from very high heat, since spandex weakens with it.
Questions About Crooks and Castles Pants
Are There Any Crooks and Castles Pants in Stock Now?
Not yet. The first woven pants are on the way and will appear in this section once they are listed.
What Is the Difference Between This Section and Sweatpants?
This section is for woven pants such as twill, chinos and denim; fleece joggers and sweats have their own section.
What Fabric Is the Twill Jogger?
The label's past twill jogger was listed as 98% cotton and 2% spandex, which gives it a little stretch.
Will the Pants Come in Waist Sizes or Letter Sizes?
It depends on the style. Elastic-waist pairs usually use S to XXL, and jeans often use waist and length. Each product page will say.
How Do I Find My Inseam?
Measure a pair that fits you well from the crotch seam to the hem.
Can I Tumble Dry Twill or Denim?
Low heat is fine, but hanging the pants to dry keeps the color and length closer to new.
