Crooks and Castles Pocket Tee Black
Fit and Features
An Everyday Fit That Layers Easily
The Crooks and Castles pocket tee is the plainest shirt in the range, and that is its job. It is a black tee with one patch pocket over the left side of the chest, two or three short lines of fine white text just above it, and a very small red and white mark printed on the pocket itself. Most of the Crooks and Castles tees put a big print front and center, so this one fills a different gap in a wardrobe: the shirt you reach for under a jacket, an open flannel or a zip hoodie, where a large graphic would fight with the outer layer. The body is cut straight with short sleeves, and one sleeve carries a little tab. Zoom into the black chest pocket tee photo to read the details.
Picking a Size for Layering
Choose your usual size if the tee will mostly sit under other layers, since extra fabric bunches at the waist under a jacket. Go a size larger only if you plan to wear it alone and like a looser drape. Every size from S to XXL is listed, with chest widths on the size guide for tees.
Design Details
Fine Lettering and a Red Accent
The lettering above the pocket is small enough to read only up close, set in white on the black cotton. The two-color mark on the pocket is tinier still and gives the chest a single point of color. Neither detail is loud, which is why the shirt pairs so easily with patterned pants or a printed jacket.
The label has put pockets on graphic tees before. If you like minimal fronts, the chain badge tee in black takes a similar approach, swapping the pocket for one small round badge in gold.
How to Wear It
Layering Through the Seasons
This shirt is knitted from 100% combed cotton, a jersey that weighs roughly 240 GSM. That midweight helps the pocket hold its square shape, and it is breathable enough for summer on its own. From autumn on it becomes a base layer. The oat heather emblem hoodie works well over it, since its own small round emblem on the chest keeps the same low-key look.
Under a Puffer in Winter
On the coldest days, a black tee and a black puffer make a simple base. The black hooded puffer jacket has wide horizontal quilting and a small tonal script logo, so zipping it over this shirt keeps everything dark and quiet. Unzip it indoors and the pocket and its small printed mark show through at the chest.
Materials and Care
Washing a Black Basic
Black cotton fades with heat and friction, so wash it inside out on a cold cycle with other dark clothes. Turning it inside out also protects the small lettering and the pocket stitching. Line dry or dry flat; the dryer shrinks jersey and fades black faster than anything else. Iron the inside at low heat if needed.
Summer with Light Gray Shorts
Once the heat arrives, the black shirt looks sharper against lighter bottoms. The pocket tee pairs well with the heather gray hand sign shorts, which bring in a soft light-blue print low on the leg and lighten the whole outfit.
Questions About the Crooks and Castles Pocket Tee
Which Side Is the Pocket On?
It is on the left, over the heart.
Does the Shirt Have a Big Print?
Not in the photo. The visible side shows only the pocket, the fine white text above it and the small red and white mark.
Is It a Good Shirt for Layering?
Yes. The low-key front and midweight jersey make it an easy base under hoodies and jackets.
